Where Have I Been?

It's been a while - and as my dear friend Mitzi pointed out, my blog needs a major update! So - here's what's been going on in my crazy life....

1. Had an awesome 4th of July party at our new place. It was so great to see some old and new friends along with their kids! They grow up so fast! We truly had a great time and are looking to make this a tradition, so - mark your calendars for next year!

2. My parents flew in from Florida "secretly-ish." My grandmother was turning 75 and my mom along with her two brothers decided to throw her a surprise party. My parents flew in two days earlier than my grandmother actually knew about and "hid" from her at my aunt and uncle's house to prepare food, get decorations, etc. for the party. Grandmom was completely surprised and it was absolutely wonderful seeing my parents again. We have grown so close and it's so nice when the family is together. My grandmother is very special to me. She is my last living grandparent and it was so great to see her so happy and surrounded by good friends and family.

3. I auditioned for Sweeney Todd and didn't get cast. There was a ton of drama that went down with the audition and casting process, and as a member of the Board of Directors, I had to keep my professionalism while others ranted and complained. Whew! Let's just keep the drama on stage people!

4. I auditioned for Music Man last night. I have a call back this evening and am hoping for the best! I really need to do a show. It's been way too long, and I think Craig can use me out of the house for a while! I did Music Man when I was 21 and was cast in the ensemble. I really want to be Marion and have the opportunity to "play" with the soprano side of my voice once again. Recently, my parts have been belty and character parts, and I'd like, once again - and before I get too old - to play the ingenue.

5. Lost 13 lbs. total. I'm still on my regimented plan, although it was a little difficult during 4th of July and my parents arrival. I'm very proud of the 13 lbs. I've lost and will continue to strive to be "skinny!"

6. Craig and I are headed down the shore this weekend. Our dear friends Beth & Glenn have a place on LBI, so Friday afternoon we're packing our stuff and heading there for a weekend of relaxation, friendship and fun!

7. Prior to us leaving this weekend I have a mess of things to do including: hair cut, ballroom dancing lessons, clothes shopping. I need to pack all of my clothes that I am not taking down the shore and get my passport out because I am leaving first thing Monday morning (the 28th) for Vancouver, BC. Each year, my company has an incentive trip that the top producers throughout the country attend. Last year was Laguna Beach and the year before that was Vegas! I'll be heading to Canada - my first time there - for an entire week! It will be extremely difficult to be away from Craig for that long. We've actually never been apart that long since we've been married. It will be like our long distance relationship we had when I was in Florida and he was in NJ.

As you can see, it's been quite busy in my world. All in all things are well! We're enjoying our new place and the Phillies are back in 1st Place. Well, I better get back to work. TTFN!
