The Month of Mayhem is Over!!

October was what I liked to call, "THE MONTH OF MAYHEM!" It was one thing right after another, and, quite frankly, I am relieved that November is here! The beginning of the month consisted of preparation - for "The Halloween Party," my friend's visit from Florida, and A Chorus Line auditions (I am Stage Managing). The rest of the month consisted of the completion of a brand new heating system, two mini floods in our basement which was the result of a backed up sewage drain, and the installtion of a brand new shower head, WHEW! THEN, we'll add the Phillies in the playoffs and World Series, some sort of illness/cold/virus that infected me for over 2 weeks and you can just tell that it was a mess of a month!!

The Halloween Party was a smashing success! I actually made my costume this year. It's a shocker to those who know me because I don't sew......at all! I had to borrow my grandmother's sewing machine and had lessons from my friend, Jennie (the sewing goddess), on how to thread and use the darn thing. Suprisingly it turned out great! I decided to be Ursula from The Little Mermaid in which it was a cross between the cartoon and Broadway version. FUN! My friend Jessica, who was also the maid-of-honor in our wedding, flew up from Florida the Thursday night before the party and stayed at our place the weekend to join in the festivities. All in all it was a great weekend!!

THE PHILLIES ARE THE 2008 WORLD CHAMPIONS!!! Craig and I were fortunate enough to be at both parts of Game 5! No words can describe how awesome that experience was! I think Chse Utley said it best!! The energy in that stadium was simply astonishing. It is something I will remember for the rest of my life and I thank my husband for my crazy adoration for the Phightin' Phils!!

As for yesterday's election - well, I really don't have much to say. Does our country need change? Absolutely. Are we ready for an African American President, sure, why not (and I mean that in a positive light)?! Do I agree with Obama's policies - not entirely (my job may be at risk in the near future). However, I do pray that God is with him in all of his decision making for what's best for our beloved country. I am not bitter. I am hopeful. I have decided to be optimistic about this and will support our president, as that is what all Americans should do!!

From the Musical Wicked - Song "For Good"

I've heard it said
That people come into our lives
For a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led
To those who help us most to grow
If we let them
And we help them in return

I like your pragmatic view on the election. Considering there are only two real choices for president, I'm amazed that ANYONE agrees with EVERY policy position of any one candidate. It's compromise, brokerage politics at it's best, and I'm very hopeful that last week's outcome bodes well for the country's future.

Thank you for saying it so eloquently.

And yay for the Phils! What a great story!
